I just read an article in the Swedish news where the journalist (a 30 something guy who probably has the snooziest taste in music you could ever hope for, and most likely listened to the Garden State soundtrack the last time he made love) was upset because American kids do not know who Paul McCartney is and they have been tweeting about it. Oh god, hold on to your fucking hat. How many more times do I have to agree that sure he was an integral part of music history. And sure, he has written some beautiful songs. Yes, I agree. But I am done now. He is the snooziest performer I have ever laid eyes and ears on. Why would any young kid need to know who he is, and why in the world would they care? SIR Paul McCartney, member of the Beatles and knighted by Queen Elizabeth, doesn't have enough fame, recognition and money? This writer finds it disrespectful that this one demographic doesn't know who he is? Give me a fucking break. I find it utterly refreshing.

During my travels back and forth to Scandinavia, I have been through most of Europe's major airports, but one in particular always made my 15 hour traveling day extra special. And by special, I mean it makes me want to stab myself. Please, keep in mind that I didn't mind Bangkok's airport in 1999, when it was covered in carpet and sleeping people, so I'm not some obnoxious snob (yes, I am,) but this airport I'm thinking of goes out of its way to give people that little extra attention to horribleness. This place will throw anyone into a mad blind rage. If it tells you anything, it's the only place where I've seen my dad loose his temper, and tell an airport official "you need to speak English. This is an airport. There are people from all over the world here." My dad is trilingual, and English is not his first language, so this is not some ignorant statement he was making. Have you guessed yet what airport I'm talking about? Charles de Gaulle naturally. And now they've gone made it official, by placing as number 1 on CNN's completely unscientific study of "10 of the world's most hated airports" I quote "Grimy washrooms with missing toilet seats don’t help. Nor do broken scanning machines and an overall lack of signage, gate information screens and Paris-worthy bars, restaurants or cafés.
The baffling circular layout is worsened by warrens of tunnel-like structures, dismissive staff and seething travelers waiting forever in the wrong queue.
The worst part may be this airport’s aura of indifference to it all. “Waiting for a connection here,” notes one commuter, “is like being in custody.” -cnn.com

I think perhaps I'm done with this blog. I have reached an old grumpy age where over sharing and telling people what you are doing each second seems like a waste of time and just kind of annoying. I think Twitter and Facebook are probably the seed of this annoyance, and this poor blog just gets to take my projecting wrath. I have had this blog since 2005, and in 2007 I erased everything on it and started over again, so it had a good run. I'll give it some more thought. I know my mom and dad enjoys my meager posts. I once befriended this girl in a really hard upper level biology class because she seemed like a no bull shit kind of girl. I needed a study partner because this class was intense, and there was no way I would understand the complexity of DNA without some help. She was obviously a book worm, and exactly who I wanted to partner up with. Halfway throughout the class which had about 200 students it was time to cover evolution. Oh lord, have mercy. Well, since this is America and people get all offended by Darwin, there is an anonymous survey being given in the class where we are being asked if we believe in evolution. After living here for 9 years, I am still confused by this situation. Hold up, girl. Isn't this a science class? Isn't evolution mandatory? Anyhow, we use our super techy little iRemotes to answer and I answer "A. Fuck yes." In all my stupidity I can't help to glance over at my no-BS-partner who firmly squeezes her B button, meaning "B. No. I believe people can walk on water and gays are evil." I should just stop being shocked by this, but I still am. A few minutes later I strike up a conversation about it and it turns out this girl loves Jesus. With my newfound attempts of not being Miss Judgy Pants, I agree with myself that this doesn't change anything. Until I caught her cheating on our final while I'm studying like a mad woman, and we both get A's. At that very moment all I wanted to do was break into song "Ooooohh IIiiihhh what up with that, what up with that....."

I do not care for skim milk. It has no flavor and I don't know how it can even be called milk. Milk is supposed to be sweet and creamy. You mix it with things like espresso and it turns into heavenly things. You know, milk. Creamy. Not watery and see-through. It's a scam. A milk scam. And then there is light cheese. Well, that shit is down right offensive, so let's move on.
On Mondays I like to indulge in a full on TV night. I watch 90210 (that's right) Gossip Girl, Weeds and the C Word. And with this galore of goodness I usually eat very indulgent food. Tonight however, hot chocolate, which I crave about once a year, is what happened.
Whole milk, melted Callebaut semisweet chocolate, real cocoa powder, dash of sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, nutmeg, whipped heavy cream. 90210 on the stupid box. I am thinking a full on stomach ache will kick in in about 20 minutes. Delicious.
